PROFILE OF KERALA SIET

 

The State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET) will be responsible for the planning, research, production and evaluation of educational softwares like video, audio programmes and computer multimedia. SIET also aims to implement schemes to generate teaching technologies and learning process in the modern context.

Kathakali, an art form of Kerala

SIET, Kerala is the latest in the array of 7 SIET's in the country. Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India sanctioned the State Institute of Educational Technology for Kerala in 1998.
The Institute was constituted under the Travancore Literary Scientific and Charitable Societies Act 1951 on 08.09.1999 as an autonomous society with register No. T. 1373/99. The Rules and Regulations of the Institute are recognised by the State Cabinet. The Executive Committee, with the Minister for Education as Chairman, and the

Secretary for General Education as the Vice Chairman, has 16 members in all. Initially the Nodal Office of the Institute was working in the premises of the State Council of Educational Research Training, Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 012, Kerala. Since January 2000 the office is accommodated in a calm and quiet atmosphere in TC No. 15/160 Padmabai Road, Vellayambalam, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 010, Kerala.
